Writing Encounters is a community of artists and researchers who share an interest in the curated encounter between writing and performance.

CLAIRE HIND & CLAIRE MACDONALD MEET CRIS CHEEK AT THE 2008 WRITING ENCOUNTERS SYMPOSIUMWe aim to generate internationally significant research at the intersection of art, writing and performance; facilitate exchange between artists and scholars explore new models of curatorial and writing practices; develop an agency for writing artists and artists working across art, writing and performance practices.

Writing Encounters is: Claire Hind, Claire MacDonald, Steve Purcell and Simon Zimmerman.

Our current projects include:

An international Writing Encounters symposium during 2011, which builds on the success of the first event in 2008 and is to be focused around curated writing, writing as research and the pedagogies of writing. A call for participation will be advertised here from April 2010; and

In a word..., an Arts Council funded living research project.
